Watched Garden State alone, so all alone, on Saturday night. Probably a bad idea as I don't like Natalie Portman or Zach Braff (he looks like a shark when he smiles, you can imagine him eating your soul). It was ok as a kinda coming of age joint, but wasn't that funny for me, although it did have some touching scenes, so fails on half it's brief. Interestingly the scene where Braff is at a party, e'd up and sitting there while the party goes on around him (at double speed) made me quite emotional. Kind of touched on what my life feels like, sitting watching, having stories but no experiences, made me feel kind of sad. Probably wasn't meant to do that, but that was the mood I was in. And those dog shagging/masterbating scenes were hilarious. What? WHAT? WHAAAT?
It wasn't bad (I'd give it 5 or 6 out of ten) but not as good as Rushmore for example. Watch it if it's on, but don't go out of your way.
