Blogs, Forums and the nature of discussion

Very interesting thread over at Moodle.org, and one that's very close to my heart. If you're interested in blogging, this will be essential reading for you. Personally I prefer blogs to forums, and have all the Moodle forums with RSS feeds running through my feed aggregator (I'm with bloglines), for speed and ease of navigation. I find the forum model too linear - and no trackbacks! It isn't a competition at the end of the day though - it's about offering the greatest flexibility and support for user preference in a the most strait forward manner.
