Creativity

Picture1

Creativity is something we're all interested in - it's certainly one of the major reasons I heart learning technologies. Becta recently ran a Creativity seminar in their Expert Technology series and the audio presentations are now live. You can also download PDF's. PowerPoint's and transcripts for each of the presentations.

Overcoming social exclusion through online learning

NIACE (The National Institute of Adult Continuing Education - England and Wales) is currently running "Overcoming social exclusion through online learning", funded by the Community Fund (now the Big Lottery Fund) for the period 2002 - 2005.

There's quite a few interesting things over at the site, including two huge PDF files containing a worldwide literature review relating to the delivery of online learning (1980's onward).

Euro Science frenzy

The Xplora portal was launched today, a new European gateway for science education, providing resources for primary and secondary education. They've gone for a funky design which is fairly easy to navigate, although the front page reloading time is a bit annoying, even on my swift connection. It's for teachers, pupils, and other scientists.

Also new is Athenaweb – a European Commission production for audiovisual information on science. There is some really nice stuff over there but the access process is a little laborious.
